We are delighted to welcome to our team, a specialist in the field of hairdressing with over 25 years experience, most at senior level. Specialising in all elements of hairdressing, her work supplying wigs and hairpieces to those suffering from cancer and alopecia has grown steadily over the last few years.

A wig and hairpiece, styling and cutting service will be available from mid-October and more information will be posted very soon. This will be of particular interest to those suffering with hair loss due to a health condition or illness.

The service has been developed as we are continually getting feedback from our clients and patients who tell us they want a more personalised, ‘one to one’ specialist service. The quality of wigs and hairpiece provision varies considerably from area to area and so a comprehensive selection of hairpieces will be supplied to suit all budgets. As ‘one size (style) does not fit all’ , a cutting and styling service will also be offered. Plenty of time will be given to everyone and initial consultations will be offered free of charge.

As Dermaticians already have a long established reputation for highly personalised, one to one, unhurried treatments, we will bring these these qualities to the new addition to our menu.

How to Choose a Reputable Semi Permanent Makeup or Micropigmentation Specialist

- Reseach. Do plenty of it! This is a semi permanent/permanent treatment. Use the phone to get information direct if possible and don’t be afraid to ask plenty of questions.

- Ensure the chosen company/practitioner is fully qualified, insured and experienced. Also (ideally) registered with the Local Authority.

- A thorough pre-treatment consultation with a qualified practitioner should be offered as it can help avoid misunderstandings and regrets. It is a chance to meet the person who will be treating you and who can discuss it in detail. (Some companies/individuals offer consultations free of charge). In the case of brow treatments, ask to have a design drawn on to indicate how you may look afterwards.

- Always ask to see a personal portfolio of work carried out by your practitioner. Artistic styles, treatments and approach can vary enormously from person to person. Ask for testimonials.

- Aftercare. Another vital part of the treatment. Verbal or written instructions on how to look after the treated area should be given together with aftercare products. Failure to follow this advice can result in disappointing results.

- Post treatment support.You may have questions or concerns following treatment. Ensure your practitioner will be available by phone or at least email to give advice if needed.

- Finally. Do not choose on the basis of price alone – it is your face after all!

After a very busy spring, Jeni is going on annual leave (finally)! She will be away from June 13th – 30th. No appointments will be taken during this time for semi permanent makeup and non surgical treatments.

For eyelash extensions, Elaine will available as usual on 07545 248890.

Restoring and enhancing brows using the hairstroke technique is one of Jeni’s favourite treatments.

Advice on how to get the Best Possible Results from Permanent Makeup Treatments

We have drawn up a list of ‘desirable’ elements for every treatment and those offered to all Dermatician clients.

How to obtain the Best Results from your treatment.
- Before going ahead, always ask to talk to your chosen practitioner, not a receptionist
a detailed consultation is crucial and helps to prevent misunderstandings and regrets.
- As this is a 2 part treatment, make sure the top up (6 – 12 weeks later) is included in the price
the top up is necessary to re-inforce the pigment for a longer lasting result
- Is plenty of time given for client input throughout? Treatments should not be hurried.
As a guide, we allow up to 4 1/2 hours per client for eyebrow treatments, including the top up
- Ensure the practitioner is fully qualified, insured and registered with the Local Authroirty
   as this is a legal requirement
- Always ask to see a personal portfolio of work carried out by your practitioner and not a general
company portfolio. Styles and approach can vary enormously.
- Block Brows – we do not accept requests for block brows as we feel they can look too
severe and artificial
- Client support – we consider this to be an important part of the treatment. Ensure your practitioner
will be available should you need advice during or after treatment
- Aftercare is another vital element of the treatment and the client’s responsibility. Always
   make sure this is explained carefully and you fully understand it.
