For clients who have loss of self confidence or have self image problems following illness, trauma, surgery or congenital disorders such as cleft lip. DERMATICIANS can provide a unique combination of non surgical reconstructive procedures such as micro-pigmentation (or dermagraphics) and Collagen Induction Therapy. We use the latest techniques (gained by constantly updating our training) and our pigments and equipment are medical grade and used by both the NHS and private health professionals. Alopecia Areata is a condition which causes patchy hair loss on the scalp or any other part of the body. In the case of “lost” eyebrows, natural hairstrokes combined with subtle shading to create volume, can be pigmented to great effect. Also, dots of “designer stubble” are placed in bald shaved areas such as the upper lip, chin and sideburns. Vitiligo is an unpredictable, de-pigmentation disorder of the skin. It is commonly seen on the face and hands. Re-pigmentation of the area requires great care and is only undertaken once a detailed consultation has taken place with the client. Particular attention is paid to the nature of the condition i.e. is it permanent and has it been stable for at least 3 years? A combination of flesh tones are used to make the de-pigmented area less visible and treatment will take place after small test areas have been colour matched. Cleft Palate/lip is a congenital disorder affecting the upper palate and in some cases, the nose. Where reconstructive surgery has been carried out and there is remaining deformity of the upper lip, we can rebalance the mouth by redefining the cupid’s bow and pigmenting the lip area with subtle, natural lip colours. Scars and Skin Grafts COLLAGEN INDUCTION THERAPY (CIT) FOR SKIN GRAFTS AND SCARS
CIT works by stimulating the skin to regenerate and repair itself naturally. New elastin and collagen are formed and the scars naturally relaxed and remodelled over a period of months. In some cases following CIT, natural pigmentation will also be noticed. five or six treatments may be required for acne scarring. In the case of acne scarring, clinical trials have shown up to 75% of patients have shown good or excellent results in both scarring and also hyper-pigmentation.
